1. Introduction and acceptance
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between AISOLO Technologies Private Limited ("AISOLO", "we", "us", "our") and you ("you", "User", "End User") governing your use of the explainx.ai browser extension ("Extension", "Software") and related services provided through explainx.ai (collectively, the "Services").
AISOLO is a company incorporated under the laws of India, with its registered office at 1003, Kamdhenu Commerz, Sector 14, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai 410210, Maharashtra, India.
By installing, accessing, or using the Extension or Services, you agree to be bound by this EULA, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Extension.
This EULA is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and is published in accordance with applicable intermediary and digital media rules in India.
2. License grant
Subject to your compliance with this EULA, AISOLO grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Extension solely for your personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
This license does not grant you any ownership rights in the Extension. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by AISOLO.
3. Scope of software and services
The Extension provides the following functionality:
- Productivity tracking. Local on-device tracking of time spent on websites, navigation counts, and interaction metrics stored in browser extension storage for your personal analytics.
- Focus mode. Browser-based blocking of distracting websites during active focus sessions using declarative content blocking that operates locally in your browser.
- Ask explainx.ai / page analysis. AI-powered webpage summarization that sends page content to our servers at explainx.ai for processing and analysis, including categorization and linking to relevant entries in the explainx.ai directory.
- Sidebar chat. Interactive AI chat about the current webpage, with conversation context sent to our servers for response generation.
Features may be updated, modified, or discontinued at our discretion. Some features require internet connectivity and interaction with our backend services.
4. Restrictions and acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works of the Extension except as permitted by applicable law.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the Extension.
- Redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, sell, or transfer the Extension to third parties.
- Use the Extension in violation of applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, servers, or networks connected to the Services.
- Use the Extension to transmit malware, spam, illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or impose unreasonable load on the Extension or Services through automated means, bots, or scrapers without permission.
- Use the Extension for commercial purposes, resale, or to compete with AISOLO's products without express written permission.
- Use the Extension to analyze pages containing sensitive, confidential, or regulated information unless you accept that such content will be transmitted to our servers as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual property
The Extension, including all code, design, trademarks, logos, documentation, and related materials, is owned by AISOLO or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The explainx.ai name, logo, and branding are trademarks of AISOLO. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
Your use of the Extension does not grant you any ownership or IP rights except the limited license described in Section 2.
6. Privacy and data collection
Use of the Extension involves collection and processing of data as described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- Local data. Productivity metrics, focus settings, and appearance preferences are stored locally in browser extension storage and do not leave your device unless you use server-connected features.
- Server-side processing. When you use "Explain this page" or sidebar chat features, the Extension transmits page URL, title, description, and extracted content to explainx.ai for AI processing via third-party providers (currently OpenAI).
- Analytics. Technical data such as extension version, browser type, and API request metadata may be collected for diagnostics and improvement.
By using the Extension, you consent to data collection and processing as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Third-party services and content
The Extension may interact with third-party services, including:
- AI inference providers (e.g. OpenAI) for generating summaries and chat responses.
- The explainx.ai skills registry, MCP server directory, and related listings which may link to or reference third-party tools, repositories, and packages.
- External websites and web content that you choose to analyze using the Extension's features.
No warranties for third-party services. AISOLO does not control, endorse, or guarantee the availability, security, accuracy, or legality of any third-party service or content. Your use of third-party offerings discovered through the Extension or explainx.ai is at your own risk and subject to those third parties' terms and privacy practices.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AISOLO disclaims all liability for third-party services, content, or conduct.
8. Updates and modifications
We may update the Extension from time to time to add features, fix bugs, improve security, or comply with legal requirements. Updates may be distributed through the Chrome Web Store or other distribution channels.
You may be required to install updates to continue using certain features. By continuing to use the Extension after an update, you accept the updated version and any changes to functionality.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire Extension at any time without liability.
9. Disclaimers and warranties
THE EXTENSION AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AISOLO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND ACCURACY.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Extension will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- Results obtained from the Extension (including AI-generated summaries and categorizations) will be accurate, reliable, or complete.
- Defects or errors will be corrected.
- The Extension will be compatible with all browsers, operating systems, or future platform changes.
- Third-party services integrated with the Extension will remain available or function as expected.
You use the Extension at your own risk. You are solely responsible for any damage to your device, loss of data, or other harm resulting from use of the Extension.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL AISOLO, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA LOSS, GOODWILL LOSS, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, COMPUTER DAMAGE, OR SYSTEM FAILURE).
- DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE EXTENSION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, CONTENT, OR CONDUCT ACCESSED THROUGH THE EXTENSION.
- DAMAGES ARISING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE EXTENSION SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE EXTENSION IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) INR 5,000.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AISOLO, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:
- Your use or misuse of the Extension or Services.
- Your violation of this EULA or applicable laws.
- Your violation of third-party rights, including privacy, intellectual property, or proprietary rights.
- Content you transmit through the Extension, including webpage content analyzed using our features.
12. Termination
This EULA is effective until terminated. Your rights under this EULA will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any provision.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for any reason, including violation of this EULA, security risks, or operational reasons.
Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the Extension and uninstall it from all devices. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, and 13) will survive.
You may terminate this EULA at any time by uninstalling the Extension and ceasing use of the Services.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
This EULA is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to applicable mandatory provisions, any disputes arising from this EULA or your use of the Extension shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
You may also exercise rights available under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) or other applicable consumer protection frameworks.
14. Export compliance
The Extension may be subject to export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and will not export, re-export, or transfer the Extension to prohibited countries, entities, or persons.
15. Changes to this EULA
We may modify this EULA from time to time. We will post the updated EULA on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Extension or Platform.
Your continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated EULA where permitted by law. If you do not agree to the changes, you must uninstall the Extension and stop using the Services.
16. Severability and waiver
If any provision of this EULA is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any provision of this EULA shall not be construed as a waiver of that provision or any other provision. No waiver shall be effective unless in writing and signed by an authorized representative of AISOLO.
17. Entire agreement
This EULA, together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and AISOLO regarding the Extension and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications, agreements, or understandings.
