Agentic Fatigue

Agentic fatigue is the exhaustion developers report after sustained work with coding agents, where output goes up while the person supervising the output burns out.

Ask Melo about this← all terms

Reported widely from 2026 onward by developers roughly a year into agent-driven workflows, it is the human half of the vibe-coding productivity paradox: the tools are measurably faster, and the reviewing, correcting and context-switching load they create is measurably tiring. It is distinct from ordinary overwork in that the fatigue comes from continuous supervision and verification rather than from writing code.
